
Villa dei Tasso ---
The Villa dei Tasso dates back to the XVI century and is located in the historic Celadina district of Bergamo. As its name suggests, it was a summer residence owned by the homonymous family, pioneers of communication and the postal system that spread throughout Europe. People of elevated prestige and social standing, who had the honor of hosting, within the rooms of this dwelling, important cultural and artistic figures of the caliber of Torquato Tasso, Giambattista Tiepolo, Francesco Zuccarelli and Francesco Tassi. Built in open countryside by Gabriele Tasso, it once represented the most important agricultural estate in the town: production was entrusted to the peasants in their employ, which was then sold to the Serenissima Republic.
