Porta San Giacomo ---
Porta San Giacomo once represented the entrance to Città Alta for those arriving from Milan. It is the only access point to the Walls perfectly visible from viale Vittorio Emanuele, the axis that runs through Bergamo Bassa from south to north, both for its position and its color. The white marble with which it is built, extracted from the quarries of Zandobbio, in the nearby Val Cavallina, makes it stand out against the gray stone of the defensive walls. Due to these characteristics, in addition to being one of the most photographed places in Bergamo, it constitutes a perfect backdrop on which to project colored lights on the occasion of special events (for example, the tricolor of the Italian flag during celebrations linked to national occasions). Leaning against the balustrade, you will enjoy, on one side, a beautiful view
