By train

Bergamo Station

Bergamo's train station is in Piazzale Marconi, in the heart of the Lower Town, connected to Milan Central by Trenord trains every 30 minutes (50 min ride, approx 6 EUR). Direct connections also to Brescia (50 min), Lecco (45 min), Cremona and other Lombard cities. From the station to the center: 5-minute walk along the Sentierone. For Upper Town: funicular from the lower station (Viale Vittorio Emanuele II).

A4 Motorway Milan-Venice

Bergamo is on the A4 Milan-Venice motorway. From Milan: Bergamo exit (approx 50 km, 45 minutes) From Venice: Bergamo exit (approx 240 km, 2h 30min) From Bologna: A1 to Milan, then A4 (approx 220 km, 2h 30min) Main parking: - Fara Parking (Upper Town) — closest to Citta Alta - Piazzale della Liberta (Lower Town) - Train Station - Piazzale Oberdan Parking Note: ZTL (restricted traffic zone) active in Upper Town and historic center.
