The "Latteria Sociale" was founded on December 5, 1954, thanks to the initiative and spirit of collaboration of a group of cattle breeders who decided to unite in a cooperative with the aim of transforming into cheese the milk supplied by all the member producers, thus overcoming the appreciated but by then inadequate system of the rotating dairy. Cheeses are the simplest and most natural expression of agricultural work in mountain territories: raising livestock in the "Terre Alte" requires passion, commitment, and hard work; it means operating in balance with an environment that is precious and beautiful, but also fragile and sometimes hostile.
