The most evocative and "local" way to move from Città Bassa to Città Alta is through the "scalette" (little staircases). As the name suggests, these are exclusively pedestrian pathways, stepped and paved with characteristic cobblestones or stone tiles. They wind upwards, bordered by ancient dry stone walls, passing through fields, terraced orchards and gardens of beautiful villas: the scenery that unfolds before you will enchant you at every step.
