Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Miracle ---

In Desenzano al Serio, a hamlet of Albino, stands the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of the Miracle of the Leg, a Catholic place of worship dating back to the eighteenth century. Built to honor the miracle of 1440, performed on the young Venturina Bonelli, a girl with a severe leg infection, healed following an Apparition of the Madonna. The Sanctuary was erected above a small pre-existing church (which was formerly the home of the young Venturina). The church, with a rectangular layout, is accessible from the large forecourt. On the exterior, the bell tower, built in the late nineteenth century, on whose top sits a gilded copper angel measuring 3.5 meters.
