Sanctuary of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary ---

Close to the Valle di Trinale, on the provincial road Cerete-Songavazzo, in the hamlet of Novezio stands the Sanctuary of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is part of the Parish of S.S. Filippo e Giacomo in Cerete Alto. A small and fascinating building, an important testimony to faith and art, where you can admire numerous works of art: the vault frescoed by Brighenti in 1883, two canvases by Cifrondi dated 1710 and in the altarpiece a canvas by Pietro Ronzelli of Stezzano from 1593. In 1857 a fierce fire devastated the entire structure: it is not possible to ascertain the origins of the sanctuary and the reasons that motivated its construction because all documentation relating to the church was destroyed in the fire.
