Santuario della Forcella ---

Halfway between the village of Pradalunga and the ancient stone quarries stands the Santuario della Forcella, whose name derives from a passage point on the famous ancient Mercatorum road. During the plague of 1630, the inhabitants of Pradalunga made a vow to build a sanctuary on Colle della Forcella, dedicated to the Madonna della Neve, recognized as a sacred figure by the quarry workers. Among the religious features that have brought such attention to the Sanctuary as to generate pilgrimage phenomena, the ex-voto should be mentioned, with which the Sanctuary is richly decorated: there are fifty of them; some by unknown authors, many by obscure painters and others by more appreciated artists.
