Matris Domini Museum ---
Housed in a Dominican monastery, this museum preserves magnificent frescoes from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries of great historical and artistic value. The Matris Domini Museum occupies the ancient part of the religious building located on via Locatelli, in the heart of Bergamo Bassa. Open to the public since 2000, when you visit you will be able to admire approximately 20 fresco fragments, divisible into two groups. The first group consists of the oldest ones found in one of the rooms traditionally called the 'Old Refectory'; the second group instead comes from the apse of the ancient Romanesque church of the monastery and is made up of the frescoes that were not destroyed during the Baroque-style renovation that the same church underwent during the seventeenth century.
