The Isola San Paolo is a charming islet located south of the larger Montisola, to which it was once connected by a path that could be walked on foot during seasons when the water was lower. Once considered a deserted and abandoned rock, the islet saw the birth of the San Paolo convent in 1490 at the hand of the noble Alessandro Fenaroli, who hosted the minor friars until 1783, the year in which the property was ceded to private owners.
