Former Church of S. Maria Maddalena ---
Compassionate gazes welcomed those who stayed in the hospital built beside the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena: look for them in the portal of the façade and you will find them in the angels supporting the architrave and in the Magdalene painted in the lunette. The complex of buildings dates back to the middle of the fourteenth century, when the school of the Disciplini Bianchi (lay members gathered in congregations and confraternities who submitted themselves to a life of prayer and penance) built the church and the adjoining hospital to help those in need, who were numerous at that time. This institution lasted almost five centuries, undergoing changes in use and structural modifications: however, the church and the door with a pointed arch overlooking a small courtyard have remained intact in their original appearance
