Santa Marta Cloister ---

Sometimes the most hidden treasures are also the most beautiful. The Cloister of Santa Marta is a perfect example: despite being barely visible from the outside, this cloister houses two sculptural masterpieces of absolute value: a statue, the "Seated Cardinal", by the renowned Bergamo sculptor Giacomo Manzù and a monolith by the great artist Anish Kapoor. The place itself is evocative and the interplay of light created by columns and capitals creates an oasis of peace and elegance. It is well over six hundred years old, yet the centuries have certainly not diminished its charm: walking among its porticoes you will feel transported outside of time. This enchanting hidden corner, once part of a now-destroyed convent, is accessible through the Galleria Crispi, which opens directly onto piazza Vittorio Vene
