Castagneta ---

The settlement of Castagneta spreads along an ancient road that led to Valle Brembana and the canton of Graubünden (CH), which ran parallel to the Vasi aqueduct. Castagneta belonged to the Corpi Santi, an administrative area that extended for a couple of miles around the city. The name recalls the spread of chestnut groves on the hills of Bergamo, around the eighteenth-century church dedicated to S. Rocco.
