Aqueduct ---

From the main spring to Porta S. Alessandro, the Vasi aqueduct (3.5 km, with a 70 m elevation change) brought water from springs located on the northern slopes of the hills into the city. Of ancient origin, it supplied water for domestic use until the early nineteenth century. Water for industrial purposes, instead, was conducted by the Serio river, at the foot of the city, where the main productive activities developed.
