Accademia Carrara stands out in the Italian artistic landscape for the identity and quality of its heritage. Custodian of the great names in art history between the 15th and 19th centuries—Pisanello, Foppa, Bellini, Mantegna, Crivelli, Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Fra Galgario, Tiepolo, Canaletto, Hayez, Pellizza da Volpedo—Accademia Carrara boasts one of the world's most important collections of works by Lorenzo Lotto and Giovan Battista Moroni, as well as a portion of the Visconti Sforza Tarot Deck.
